MANIFEST: A list of the goods being transported by a carrier.

MANUFACTURER'S EXPORT AGENT: A firm that acts as an export sales agent for several non-competing manufacturers. Business is transacted under the name of the agent firm.

MARINE INSURANCE: - An insurance, which will compensate the owner of the goods, transported overseas in the event of loss which cannot legally be recovered from the carrier.

MEASUREMENT TON: The measurement ton (also known as the cargo ton or freight ton) is a cubic measurement. Cargo is assessed a certain rate for every 40 cubic feet or 1 cubic meter of space it occupies using a ratio of 40 cubic feet per 2240 lbs or 1 cubic meter per 1000 kgs.
